The singer, 77, revealed that their romance blossomed through text messages, despite her previous advice to her friends to avoid falling in love with younger men or over text.


"I left to go to Switzerland, and he texts me," Cher explained. "He said: 'Where are you going?' And I said: 'I'm going to Switzerland.'"

"And he said: 'Is this a bad time? I just wanted to say I'm thinking about you.' And I said: 'No, it's not a bad time.'"

"And then he just started texting. And I was like, 'Oh, this is interesting.'"

Cher admitted that she was initially hesitant to pursue a relationship with Edwards, who is 37 years old.

"I was like, 'I don't know about this,'" she said. "But then I just went for it."

"He's just so special," she told People magazine in October. "I hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I'm special, so I can say that he's special."
