Huge plume of smoke as fire engulfs tower block

This actually happened just yesterday, on June 26th, 2024 in Staines, Surrey, UK. A large fire broke out on the roof of a tower block under construction.

Thankfully, the fire is now under control and everyone has been accounted for.

Reports say the fire originated from welding work on the roof. Black smoke and flames billowed from the building, which could be seen for miles around.

More than 40 firefighters from multiple counties battled the blaze. Since the building was under construction and not occupied, there were no injuries reported.
