Kel Mitchell tells NPR what to expect from the 'Good Burger' sequel

In a recent interview with NPR, Kel Mitchell, who starred as Ed in the 1997 Nickelodeon movie "Good Burger," talked about the upcoming sequel, "Good Burger 2." Mitchell said that the sequel will be a "nostalgia trip" for fans of the original movie, but it will also have something new to offer for those who are unfamiliar with it.


Mitchell said that the sequel will pick up with Ed and his best friend Dex, played by Kenan Thompson, 25 years after the events of the original movie. Ed is now a single dad raising his son, and he's struggling to keep Good Burger afloat. Meanwhile, Dex has become a successful businessman, but he's not happy with his life. The two friends reunite when Good Burger is threatened by a new rival restaurant, and they must work together to save their beloved burger joint.

Mitchell said that the sequel will be "full of heart and humor," and it will feature all of the characters that fans loved from the original movie. He also said that there will be some new characters, including Ed's son and a new love interest for Dex.


"Good Burger 2" is scheduled to be released on Paramount+ on July 12, 2023.
