Ullmark makes 27 saves, Bruins defeat Panthers
Charlie Coyle, John Beecher, and Jake DeBrusk scored for the Bruins, who extended their point streak to seven games (5-0-2). The Bruins have won three of their past four games (3-0-1).
Ullmark was outstanding in the first period, stopping all 15 shots he faced. He made several big saves in the second period to keep the Bruins in the lead, including a sprawling stop on Carter Verhaeghe on a breakaway.
Coyle opened the scoring for the Bruins at 18:35 of the first period. He took a drop pass from Danton Heinen at center ice, powered his way into the offensive zone and roofed a backhand from the edge of the left face-off circle.
Lundell tied it at 10:33 of the second period when Nick Cousins' low wrist shot from the point went off Lundell's right skate and past Ullmark to make it 1-1.
Beecher gave the Bruins the lead back at 14:53 of the second period when he tipped in a shot from Matt Grzelcyk from the point. DeBrusk made it 3-1 at 17:29 of the second period with a power-play goal.
The Panthers had a chance to cut into the lead in the third period, but Ullmark made several big saves to preserve the victory.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 24 shots for the Panthers.
The Bruins improved to 14-1-3, while the Panthers fell to 8-5-2.
